With the auction price of 100,150 US dollars has Super Mario Bros. set a new world record. Never before has such a high price been paid for a video game whose condition has been professionally rated.

The auction was held in the USA by Heritage Auctions. The cult game for the Nintendo console NES was released in 1985, unopened and in almost perfect condition. The new owner of the 34-year-old game is a group of collectors. The collectors share the property.
