These Are 5 Features That No Player In Anthem Understands
The Action-RPG Anthem brings many new features with it. If there are some players, they could be better explained in the game.
What is the problem? Anthem has its release on February 22nd. Some players were already able to test the shooter in the demo as well as in the early access and felt a bit lost: In their opinion, Anthem brings many fresh features, which are inadequately explained in the game itself.
In Anthem Subreddit, the user TzarWolfie has created a list of things that are simply not explained in his opinion. The contribution has already accumulated almost 5,000 upvotes.
What should be explained better? TzarWolfie has listed some features that play an important role in the game, but in his opinion are hardly explained. What good is anthem if it has great gameplay features, but nobody understands them?
This is incomprehensible: According to TzarWolfie, primers and detonators are among the most important system, which the game has to offer, but are hardly explained. Even the tutorial section in the Cortex describes the terms only fleetingly.
In early access, however, there were also some abilities that were either primers or detonators but were not labeled. Here, however, BioWare has already helped with the Day-One Patch and has supplied some icons.
Here’s how it works: Primers are abilities that inflict enemies with a negative status effect and are marked with a circle icon in the game. Detonators trigger a combo on an opponent who has previously been hit by a primer attack and is marked with a star in the game.
This is incomprehensible: The four different javelin get different effects when they trigger a combo. According to the player, this is another feature that is barely mentioned in the game.
This is how it works: The Kombo system is an important feature that allows the various Javelins to create synergies and thereby cause more damage. These effects trigger combos at the respective Javelins:

This is incomprehensible: This point is for TzarWolfie the most incomprehensible because the game has so many different keywords, descriptions and status effects, such as components, equipment, and weapons, where no one would know what they would align.
What do terms like aura combo pulse rate, effect construction or combo chain mean? According to the player, the terminology of Anthem would have to be improved again.
This is incomprehensible: Do you always go to Lucky Jak and his hourglasses to pick up your exams and think that you have only one daily, weekly and monthly task to choose from? Or are you wondering what rewards you got from the tasks?
Here’s how it works: Look into your Cortex for Challenges and Path to Glory. There you can expect more exams because you can also do more tasks.
What rewards you have received for each exam can be found in the “Challenge” tab. According to TzarWolfie, this is another detail, which should be explained more clearly in the game.
This is incomprehensible: According to the player, Anthem explains very indistinctly, for what activities your reputation points for the factions arcanists, freelancers or sentinels receive. Moreover, it is hardly clear how many reputation points he has worked out.
Also, do not tell the game what rewards there are for a rank promotion in the factions. For example, players unlock new metals to personalize their Javelin every time they move up. The metal that transforms the Ranger into Iron Man, for example, is rank 3 in the Arcanists. However, this would not be explained anywhere, but hidden under “reputation” in the cortex.
