Battlefield 5: New Grand Operation Has Cool Twist that Pleases Players
Battlefield 5 will soon get a new grand operation. The fans are especially looking forward to a special innovation.
This is the highlight of the week at Battlefield 5: On February 21, Battlefield 5 gets a new Grand Operation as part of the second Tides-of-War chapter Lightning Strikes.
This is called “Battle of Hannut” and is inspired by one of the biggest tank battles of the Western campaign. The Wehrmacht tried on their way to the Netherlands by the Belgian city of Hannut push forward.
What are Big Operations? In the form of Grand Operations, Battlefield 5 re-enacts entire military operations spanning several virtual days. The outcome of a day has an influence on the further course of Schalcht.
This is how the Great Operation “Battle of Hannut” ends: In the “Battle of Hannut”, the battles begin on a revised version of the card Tank Storm. This multiplayer map is specially designed for large-scale tank battles.
There you play on the first virtual day the mode air landing, where the attacking team is dropped off by parachute jump over the area of operation and the defensive air defense off.
On Day 2, it goes on with the breakthrough mode, where you should conquer piece by piece sectors or just prevent it.
On the third day, you fight your way through the picturesque landscape of the map Arras. For the first time in Battlefield 5 you can play the popular Rush mode, which now celebrates its return – but here with 64 instead of the usual 32 players.
Rush is one of the most popular formats in the Battlefield series. Read more here: Chapter 2 Lightning Strikes brings back popular mode
On the fourth and final day of this Great Operation, Arras is again fought for victory in Last Stand mode. Here each player has only one life and limited ammo. You have to collect equipment on the battlefield.
The developers have revealed this twist: In a conversation on Twitter, the Battlefield Level designer Matt Wagner has a cool detail blabbed, which currently provides a lot of joy for many fans.
So many fans would have asked for more night scenarios at Battlefield 5 and with “Battle of Hannut” now comes another one.
Because for air landing, the developers have let it on the tank storm card night. The battles will play so the darkness. Wagner emphasizes that it really should be very dark.
In the meantime, the first screenshots have appeared on Reddit, showing excerpts of the night version of Panzersturm.
This is how the fans react: Many fans have heard this message with great joy. Many have wished for more battles at night, but the night version of the Narvik card was too bright for many fans.
The more you are now happy about the announcement that it should now be really dark. The first pictures make the fans confident.
This is how you can play Rush outside of the Grand Operation: The regular 32 player Rush format will be available on 7th March as a time-limited stand-alone game on the following maps:
- Bent steel
- Narvik
- destruction
Before and after, however, Rush will only play in the Battle of Hannut.
