Cyberpunk 2077: Obviously No Microtransactions
Microtransactions are currently in vogue to monetize a stock over the long term. In cyber point, 2077 players will obviously not find such. The Twitter channeled by CD Project mocked the concept after a user inquired about cyberpunk microtransactions in 2077.
CD Project Social Media Machinery is known for sharing information leaflets on unpublished titles and keeping players in the mood. Likewise, the Poles are known to like to swim in the developed world against the current. For example, during the DLC craze of the early Witcher-3 era, when even the smallest money-add expansion packages were sold, developers decided to only offer larger add-ons. Items were provided as a tribute as “free DLC”. Even with Cyberpunk 2077, the studio remains stubborn.
In the future, CD Projekt does not want to participate in the topic of microtransactions. Such is now commonplace to monetize video games in the worst case for years. Often these are purely cosmetic items, such as skins, which are sold for real money. Fortnite, League of Legends and many more titles prove that people are willing to spend more on optics alone. In some games, microtransactions are also changing the gameplay, where fast Pay2Win goes.
The studio was asked about Twitter, as it is about micro-transactions in Cyberpunk 2077via Twitter . The answer came two weeks ago. It shows that CD Project does not have much left for the monetization concept. Jerry from Seinfeld has to get for a GIF: “I’ll tell you, I can not imagine that”. Before that, it was said: “Micro … what?”. For long-term revenue, Cyberpunk 2077 could produce 3 add-ons, as did The Witcher.
