Fortnite Tournament Offers $ 30 Million In Prize Money
For higher prize money than the previous highest bidder The International is for 200 Fortnite players in the summer of 2019 in New York: a total of 30 million US dollars. Qualification attempts can start anyone from 13 years.
The development studio Epic Games has presented the Fortnite World Cup 2019. It will take place from 26 to 28 July 2019 in New York. The total prize money is the US $ 30 million, shared by the 200 participants in the final tournament – 100 singles and 50 teams of two players each. The winner of the solo competition receives $ 3 million.
Anyone who makes it to New York in the final round gets in any case at least $ 50,000. The qualifying rounds will take place from April 8 to June 16, 2019, with $ 1 million per week.
By the end of the year, regardless of the World Cup, there will be more tournaments every week, with Epic Games aiming to raise some US $ 100 million in prize money in 2019. These matches are different than usual not in Battle Royale, but in a variety of different modes and formats.
The competition for the millions, however, is very large: in theory, all of the approximately 200 million active players of Fortnite, who are at least 13 years old and can show the approval of a parent or guardian. Everyone over 18 years is allowed to participate.
Another limitation: Players must not have a negative attitude towards any accounts they have registered with Epic Games. In addition, any penalties imposed by breach of official rules must be fully paid.
