Next Xbox – Premiere Allegedly On The E3, Two Models & Launch 2020
Apparently, Microsoft is in a hurry with their next Xbox and could already present it at this year’s E3 in June, as current rumors claim.
Accordingly, they run under the project name ‘Lockhart’ and ‘Anaconda’ and stand for two models, which here traditional hardware and a pure download/streaming box are meant. Both consoles should be equipped with SSD hard disks, but otherwise, have different specifications. In detail, these look like this:
Xbox Lockhart specs
- CPU: Custom 8 Cores – 16 zen threads 2
- GPU: Custom NAVI 4+ Teraflops
- RAM: 12GB of GDDR6 memory
- Storage: 1TB NVMe 1 + GB / s SSD hard drive
Xbox Anaconda specs
- CPU: Custom 8 Cores – 16 zen threads 2
GPU: Custom NAVI 12+ Teraflops
RAM: 16GB of GDDR6 memory
Storage: 1TB NVMe 1 + GB / s SSD hard drive
The download/streaming box is set to native 1080p, while the anaconda hardware offers native 4K. The latter is likely to move back up to $ 500, with Halo Infinite trading as a launch title, with a release scheduled for late 2020.
It is questionable why Microsoft is in such a hurry, while there is still no indication from Sony of an early presentation of the PS5. The early start of Microsoft, however, could also be to the detriment of the Redmond, to which Sony can respond accordingly.
