That’s Why You Should Never Stay In Freeplay For Too Long In Anthem

If you’re on the free play of Anthem for too long, you’ll miss out on some bonuses. We reveal why regular homecoming is important.

A great attraction in Anthem is the free exploration of the game world. Rather than chasing fixed missions, you can easily explore the area around Fort Tarsis and spend hours indulging in various world events, small dungeons, or finding lore items. However, you should regularly take breaks in “Free Play”. Otherwise, there is less XP.

Which restriction is there? The experience points you can get from Freeplay mode are limited. The soft cap is already reached after the third world event in a row. From then on, other world events will no longer give you any experience points – but loot will continue to exist and even challenges can be dealt with without any problems.

Return to 3 world events: So the best tip is always to return to Fort Tarsis after completing the third World Event. After you have briefly entered the base (or the smithy), you can plunge right back into the fray. If you do not do that, you can avoid valuable experience points and you will not be able to level up if you spend hours in free play without a break.

Why is there this restriction? There is no clear justification for the restriction. However, there are several explanatory approaches that at least provide clues. If you could collect “infinite” experience points in Freeplay, then:

  • If a large part of the prey were meaningless in the end because you have exceeded its level far.
  • Could players on low opponents to level up to the maximum level

From a technical point of view, it makes sense to limit the XP.

What do you think of this limitation? Does it make sense to have a little break after three world events? Or does this circumstance tear you too much from free play?
