Switch Replaced PS Vita As The Sweetheart Of Niche Games
For a long time, PS Vita was the platform of choice for Japanese niche games. But this place is occupied by Nintendo Switch, the popular hybrid of Nintendo.
That’s where Geraint Evans. Manager of PQube publisher specializes in locating and launching various Japanese games. Believes when he thinks of how the Nintendo console got the mantle that belonged to the Sony notebook.
In a conversation with Twinfinite. Evans said that Switch is the ideal platform for these Japanese niche games. Especially as the PC market is getting more and more saturated.
“It’s not necessarily a problem with Japanese games, but it’s a problem with the volume of content.” “I’m really confident that this audience will switch to Switch.
PUBLICITY
“There is so much available, and I am worried that many people will not be able to handle this storm.”
For Evans, Switch can help a lot of smaller publishers, and the fantastic sales of the console are a great incentive.
“I think it’s already on its way,” Evans says about Switch replacing PS Vita as the sweetheart of niche games.
“The hardware itself is fantastic, and the sales on the platform are outstanding.”
“As a publisher, that’s a relief because when we were watching Vita fall, we were left thinking about what things would be like in the future.”
“When we saw the Switch for the first time. We commented that ‘okay, the hardware is very cool, but we do not know how the ecosystem will work,’ then we saw that ‘wow, it’s selling well!’ The first things we launched at Switch were very successful. ”
The Switch has become the darling of the indies, but for PQube did more than that, it has become the new console of niche games.
