Details Emerge About Project xCloud: Its Streaming Gaming System

In 2018, Microsoft unveiled Project xCloud, a streaming gaming system for different platforms. In a new interview, Microsoft’s cloud games chief Kareem Choudhry gave more details about the features of xCloud. As well as some requirements for it to work as expected.

In an interview with Eurogamer. Choudhry revealed that Project xCloud remains firm for its launch until the end of 2019. And commented that the latest latency tests, Done in the Washington area. Showed good results, with numbers shorter than ten milliseconds. According to Choudhry, it is easier to find higher latency by connecting a Bluetooth device to an Android smartphone.

When asked what kind of connection will require to do xCloud work. The director revealed that the current tests show great results with connections between 9 and 10 Mbps. He added that the team is working so that it can deliver good video quality to lower connections, between 5 and 6 Mbps, but with lower resolutions.

Xbox Game Pass by streaming?

One of the questions asked to Choudhry was related to the Xbox Game Pass and the possibility of accessing the games of the service through Project xCloud.

The director did not give a very direct answer, just confirming the desire to make the service available, but remembering that it is currently valid only for Xbox One. This may be indicative that the possibility of games being made available on platforms such as PC and mobile may present some legal hurdles to come true.
