Nintendo Brings Battle Royale Version Of Tetris

Tetris 99

Switch players can look forward to a multiplayer interpretation of the classic game called Tetris 99.

The Japanese gaming group Nintendo has announced a new version of the classic Tetris. While Battle Royale games like Fortnite are booming, Nintendo SwitchOnline users will be able to block blocks in competition with other players, TechCrunch said. How this works is demonstrated by a video (see below).

98 opponents

Apparently, Tetris initially plays as usual. However, for particularly good actions, other players are thrown with “garbage” that drives their blocks stack to dangerous heights. For each player you turn off, you get a “KO” badge, as Engadget writes. As the title Tetris 99 implies, you fight against 98 other players this way. Tetris 99 should be available for free and now available on Nintendo Switch Online.

Division 2: Release, Trailer, News – All info!

Division 2

Division 2: Release, Trailer, News – all info!

Only a few days left until the start of “The Division 2”. Now Ubisoft is heating up the anticipation with a stirring live action trailer. Watch now!

The countdown is on: March 8, 2019 “The Division 2” will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. A feast for shooter fans who are already rubbing their hands in the face of the highly staged ball game. In order to transport the dense atmosphere of the game in advance and to tune inadequately to the spectacle, Ubisoft has now released an impressive live-action trailer for the game. Done by the Danish film director Nicolas Winding Refn. He is responsible for the films “Drive” and “Only God Forgives” and has a special knack for dark and intoxicating stories.

Division 2: Emotional Attunement

Exactly this strength he also plays in the mini-movies about Ubisoft’s shooter. The almost one and a half minute clip takes a look at the characters behind the weapons and outlines the fate of a fighter and his tragic motivation to fight. The trailer concludes with action-packed scenes from the game and makes it clear that you’re looking for more. If you also want to get in the mood for “The Division 2”, you will find the full trailer above this message. If you play “The Division 2” on the home computer, you should consider ordering the game in advance. Why? Because it’s worth twice!

The Division 2: Bonus Game for Pre-Orderers

Get the title in advance digitally, do not just gamble on time for the start, you also get a free game! That’s what Ubisoft recently announced on the official website title. You decide for yourself which bonus you want at home. Ubisoft offers three titles to choose from: either choose the Stone Age shooter ” Far Cry – Primal “, the hacker adventure ” Watch Dogs 2 ” or the tactical ballet ” Ghost Recon – Wildlands ” for free.

Division 2: Secure a Free Game for Free

The action is, however, linked to a narrow time window. Ubisoft’s gift offer ends on March 31, 2019. By then, you must have cashed your gift. This is possible once you pre-order “The Division 2” digitally at Ubisoft’s in-house Uplay store and it pops up in your Uplay library. However, your free game will not be available until March 15, 2019. If you already have all three games offered, beckons you a special, not yet described gift. You will shortly receive an e-mail from Ubisoft with details. If you are still unsure about ordering “The Division 2”, take a look at the following lines. COMPUTER BILD GAMES has already played the online shooter extensively. Everything you need to know about the title, read in the following preview!

Preview: Division 2

In March, the time has come: Then, with “The Division 2” is a real open-world freak in the wings. The mix of shooter and RPG, packaged in open game world and apocalyptic scenario, was able to convince even the predecessor. Clear that the makers of Massive Entertainment in the successor do not shake this successful, because of round concept. The end-time shooter, which will be released on March 8, 2019, follows the events of the predecessor published in 2016.

However, the online action game should motivate longer this time and scores in the campaign with plenty of emotions. In the run-up to the ” Private Beta ” held from 7 to 11 February 2019, manufacturer Ubisoft gave selected journalists a first look at the campaign and the endgame of “The Division 2” as part of a press event in Paris. COMPUTER BILD SPIELE has plunged into the post-apocalyptic Washington DC and reveals why fans of the first part might even have to submit holidays.

Forecast: Division 2

Granted: “The Division 2” does not do much new – but most of it better than its predecessor. Whether the livelier and more colorful game world, the smarter opponents or the more diverse missions – Ubisoft has apparently learned the right lessons from the first part. The revised skill and dark zone mechanics also give hope that Part 2 does not play like a mere infusion of the predecessor. Incidentally, this may apply to the playful framework of the title: this is still a bank – the mixture of RPG and shooter works wonderfully. Playfully motivates “The Division 2” with the complex but intuitive controls, plenty of loot and the constant progress of the game. However, one must also like the constant grinding in the quite one-dimensional missions.

Per

  • Revised skill system brings more tactical depth
  • Significantly more endgame content than in the predecessor
  • Exciting, new Dark Zone mechanics
  • Varied game world
  • Solid teamwork
  • Motivating inventory system
  • Incursions with up to 8 players
  • Free DLC in the first year

Contraindications

  • Known grind for weapons and equipment
  • Missions are still very monotonous
  • Improved menu guidance
  • Will loners also get their money’s worth?
  • Still quirks in multiplayer mode

Division 2: DC instead of New York

First, a few words about the new setting: In Part 2, you are still on the move as an agent of the division in the, by a virus attack largely paralyzed, USA. This time, however, no longer in the street canyons of wintery New York, but in summery Washington DC. However, this is no longer the peaceful capital of yesteryear. In “The Division 2” rule three factions and spread fear and terror in the decimated by the “dollar flu” population: hyenas, outcasts and True Sons. Sure thing, the agents of the Homeland Division have to work to eliminate these abuses.

Washington DC acts in “The Division 2” as a virtual playground for shooter fans. The extensive area is divided into three areas and just as many dark zones – contaminated PvEvP areas (player versus environment versus player) with particularly high-quality prey. How these play, read below in the appropriate section!
After creating your own character, protect the last White House survivors and build the Base of Operation there. This serves as a retreat and to improve your character. Later on, you will be able to buy new skills and upgrades from the quartermaster or even make new weapons – assuming you have the right blueprints and components. The base of operations is initially comparatively poorly equipped. Only by completing main and side missions you unlock new functions such as the workshop. The inhabitants of the game world are more in focus here than in the predecessor. That should also motivate loners. Whether you complete the orders alone or in teams of four is up to you. This hardly changes the missions themselves.
In the first mission, the agents are drawn to the theater settlement. The local leader Odessa Sawyer misses her daughter and only if you save her, you activate the functions of the outpost. These include, for example, additional jobs or trading options. For example, at one of the stalls, you can exchange found items and raw materials for high-quality extras.

Together, struck

In terms of mission design, “The Division 2” remains a straightforward action game. Riddles, freedom of choice or other game elements look in vain. Instead, you are shooting in the missions through ever-increasing enemy waves. In between, mini-missions such as hostage-taking or other spontaneous events provide amusement. The control proves to be extremely complacent: At the touch of a button, the soldiers jump into cover or quickly change position by holding the same key.

A pinch of tactics is also required in Ubisoft’s MMO shooter. In the battle with heavily armored elite troops of the hyenas, for example, the flanking or the use of special talents is worthwhile. Initially, each pawn has only one free slot for features such as a mobile turret or a drone. But later you can upgrade and use up to three additional functions. Very nice: The gadgets often support the teamwork idea. The drone, for example, attacks opponents or restores armor to colleagues – especially useful in prolonged firefights.
Conspicuous: While the first “The Division” with the venue New York was still very dark, the developers of Massiv Entertainment are making the areas more varied this time and show Washington DC from its more colorful side. Thanks to dynamic weather changes, as well as day and night changes, the sky in “The Division 2” is always clear.

A taster course in the endgame

With every mission, you get new equipment and resources. Add to that an experience system that lets you buy new skills and inventory upgrades. Weapons and armor are available in four different rarities. For example, those who find a high-end shotgun will do enormous damage. In addition, upgrade weapons with extensions such as handles or visors.

On the other hand, if you reach the character maximum level 30, unlock the three specializations Sniper, Survivalist, and Demolitionist and their bonus cannon. Unsurprisingly, the sniper relies on a sniper rifle, the survivalist on a crossbow with exploding arrows, and the demolitionist on a grenade launcher. You can find the fairly rare ammunition in the running game. After completing the campaign, the so-called Endgame starts and the Black Tusks faction takes over the card. Their motives are still unclear. It is clear that in the endgame they will whirl around the game again and give a new twist to already played missions. The elite unit leads to combat robots and drones into the field, which can even heal the troops.

Longer and for all

The two Endgame missions playable in Paris convinced with their claim, but also with their length and the creative locations. The missions developed by Ubisoft Annecy lasted over 45 minutes and led the agents through an observatory or an old bunker. In the observatory, you will be firing through event and presentation rooms, whereas the bunker system is characterized by a style of decor almost reminiscent of the “Fallout” games. The stakes play again and again with height differences and winding corridors. Agreements and coordination are compulsory here – this ensures the enjoyment of shooting and your dense atmosphere.

The lean endgame content was one of the biggest criticisms of “The Division”. For the successor promised the makers in this regard improvement. Ubisoft is already planning new content for the future, such as sophisticated raids. The goal is to keep the game fresh longer, so these enhancements should be free for all players. In the first year, three new episodes with additional stories and varieties will be released. In addition, one would like to expand the offer by three new, so far not further explained specializations.

Reported report on the dark zones

A key success factor of Part 1 was the Dark Zone. This is still the heart of the game’s online activities. In this demarcated area of Division 2’s open world, players will encounter AI-controlled opponents and other human opponents in the hunt for the best equipment. And in contrast to the rest of the world gamblers can go to each other’s neck here. This fact made the Dark Zone in Part 1 a pitiless and nerve-wracking place – which, in addition to frustration and annoyance, provided one of the most exciting experiences in modern video game worlds.

Of course Massive wants to offer you this kick in “The Division 2”. Before the start of the game, we could take a look at the new Dark Zones. Properly read: In Part 2, three of these areas are waiting for you. And that’s far from the only innovation.

Division 2: Three Dark Zones

The open world of “The Division 2” differs from that of its predecessor. They roam through more sprawling areas in Washington and the surrounding area, where nature has recaptured the city. This is also evident in the three Dark Zones, which are located to the east, south, and west of the game world. While the eastern zone is mostly open space, the south has many winding house battles and several levels to move around. Each area has certain level requirements – in the southern zone, for example, only well-equipped level 30 heroes should dare. The new Dark Zones are significantly smaller in themselves than one of the predecessors. This ensures, among other things, that you experience faster – the paths are shorter compared to the predecessor.

Division 2: New Loot Mechanics

The way the dark zone trips change. Most striking innovation: There are no longer only contaminated prey in the zones. You will also find regular creaks and armor with killed AI opponents, which you can create immediately. In the predecessor, there were “clean” items only from supply boxes – and the came also later by patch into the game. Massive Senior Lead Designer Keith Evans explains: “Non-contaminated prey in the Dark Zone gives players the opportunity to optimize their equipment without flying out, making the most of their time while minimizing risk.” But the best items are still the virus contaminated items. These bring you – also known from Part 1 – first by helicopter from the area to take the stuff cleaned afterward in reception.

Here comes another new aspect into play. In the dark zone, overriding agents are given rogue status. This makes them more or less prominently visible to other players depending on the number of completed human opponents, thereby freeing them to shoot in the zone. In “The Division 2”, the creators bring another status into the game, which punishes less serious offenses. If you steal the equipment of a fallen agent, you will receive a gray rogue status. This will not make you immediately visible to everyone on the map, but it will alert agents in your area. The exciting thing about this status is that they start a mini-mission in the Dark Zone – the so-called Rogue Protocol.

Division 2: Rogue by protocol

This can for example run like this: After a theft, your team receives the gray rogue status. After that, you will have a few minutes to complete various small tasks in the Dark Zone. They are looking for boxes with loot or hacking switch boxes at marked positions on the map. Once you’ve met those goals, all of your team’s agents need to reach a specific safe house in the zone. Once that’s done, a dealer expects you to sell you particularly good equipment. This dealer can only be reached via the Rogue Protocol – an exciting addition to the Dark Zone!

Division 2: Revised Skill System

The fights in “The Division 2” are at first glance similar to those of the predecessor. As usual, you chase your character in the pursuit perspective from cover to cover and take your opponents on the grain. To do this you use conventional ratchets – from the shotgun to the sniper rifle. So far, so well known. There is something in the skills. The so-called signature skills from the predecessor are no longer there, instead, you use signature weapons. These are particularly powerful cops that unlock you from level 30 – such as a caliber -50 sniper rifle or a crossbow with explosive bullets. You will only find ammunition in combat with fallen enemies – and only rarely.

The skills of your agents also suit the makers of Massive. Many skills can be found in Part 2, but their handling is much smaller. An example: The gun known from the predecessor now equip you with an artillery modification. With this, the little helper sets a certain area under fire – especially handy to annoy opponents behind cover. In Part 1 you would have just pressed a button and the gun would have blown. Now you have to position the gadget first; preferably protected from enemy fire in an elevated position. After that, it does not fire automatically. You must actively define an area for the shelling. This is unfamiliar at first but brings much more tactical depth into the battle.

Division 2: Multiplayer on board

Compared to Part 1 Massive Entertainment equips the successor from the beginning with pure multiplayer modes; in the predecessor, the first months after release came by a patch. On the reference event, we could try two variants: Skirmish and Domination. The former is a classic team Deathmatch version. In Domination, two teams fight for several flag points on the map – Conquest from the “Battlefield” series sends greetings. The cards are compact and offer – typical for a cover shooter – many corners to entrench. Also in the multiplayer part, the revised skill mechanics are noticeable. The small-scale handling of the skills takes a lot of speed out of the games and brings a lot of tactical depth. Good agreements are mandatory. By the way: The game adjusts the equipment of the opponents in the multiplayer; Newcomers to Veterans also have a chance. Unfortunately, problems with the Spawn points sometimes spoiled the multiplayer fun. At least in Domination mode, it sometimes happened that you – or your opponents – were suddenly thrown back into the game behind opposing positions. A shortcoming, which the developers have to screw until the start on the 8th of March.

Division 2: Extensive Collector’s Edition

In addition to the standard version, “The Division 2″ offers a few special editions: For example, the ” Gold Edition ” will provide you with the Year One Season Pass for € 99.99 in addition to the main game. This gives you seven days’ prior access to any additional content that appears in the first year after the game’s release. The main game will be played with this version three days before the official start on March 15, 2019. The “Digital Ultimate Edition”, however, contains the main game for 119.99 euros, the year-one pass including the aforementioned preambles and three additional downloads Packages in the form of the “Elite Agent” package, the “Battleworn Secret Service” package and the “First Responder” package. If you want more, access to one of two collectors editions. The “Dark Zone Collector’s Edition “includes game and additional download packages, a 30-centimeter high collector’s item from the special agent Heather Ward. There is also a lithography book, a soundtrack and a map of Washington, DC The whole supply Ubisoft for the price of 109.99 euros in a special box.
Release Date “The Division 2”: March 8, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Age of Wonders – Planetfall: Deadline

Age Of Wonders

Age of Wonders – Planetfall: Deadline

With “Age of Wonders – Planetfall” provides the Dutch developer Triumph Studios turn-based sci-fi strategy. Now there is a start date!

I’m last year introduced “Overlord” developer Triumph Studios from Holland before the fourth branch of its “Age of Wonders” series. In “Planetfall”, the series turns its back on the medieval fantasy scenario of past parts and relies instead on apocalyptic science fiction. The gameplay, however, remains the old one. In the preview, which you find unterhab this message, made the fresh approach a good figure. Now it is clear when you can try yourself at the turn-based strategy game. As publisher Paradox Interactive recently announced via official press release, “Age of Wonders – Planetfall” will be released on August 6, 2019, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Age of Wonders – Planetfall: Three editions

This is still a while, but you can pre-order the game but now. You decide between three different versions. In addition to the standard version Triumph also brings a “Deluxe Edition” and a “Premium Edition” among the people. The latter is the most extensive and with 89,99 US-Dollar (about 79 Euro) also a most expensive variant. This includes the season pass to the game as well as all contents of the Deluxe Edition. In turn, for $ 59.99 (approximately $ 52), it includes two cosmetic upgrades for your character and an additional game scenario called Infested Worlds. In it, you fight for survival on an alien-populated planet.

Age of Wonders – Planetfall: New Trailer

Pre-orderers will also receive another cosmetic package, which equips you with, particularly fashionable accessories. The standard version of the game comes with a suggested retail price of 49.99 US dollars (about 44 €) in the trade. Prices for Germany are not yet known. To tune in there is a fresh trailer for the game, which you can find above this message.

Preview: Age of Wonders – Planetfall

Studio founder Lennart Sas from the developer Triumph promises a lot, but no blooming landscapes: “We wanted to create a world like in ‘Fallout’, but only on a galactic level.” Whether that works, is an open question, but the makers of “Age of Wonders” and “Overlord” provided a highlight of this year’s PDXCON, the in-house exhibition of Paradox Interactive. “Age of Wonders – Planetfall” is a turn-based sci-fi strategy game with a singleplayer campaign, random maps, and multiplayer mode. And it was the only PDXCON game that had moving pictures.

The half-hour demo looked good and raised high expectations. Between the very demanding Paradox strategy titles “Planetfall” seemed more action-packed and accessible. However, it is still exhausting: After all, the player creates his own empire, and the title offers him all the possibilities. And certainly much more.

Per

  • Fresh sci-fi setting
  • Even more depth of play
  • Exciting, turn-based fighting

Contraindications

  • Middle age setting may be missing fans

Paradox: Union broken
That’s it: The “Star Union” has collapsed, the survivors are meeting in the rest of the world. You choose a race like the Vanguards and equip your leader. “Planetfall” should have much more depth than its predecessor – it’s not just about conquering the world. Ruling individual sectors is just as desirable as hard-hitting trade or peaceful diplomacy. Or you develop the ultimate doomsday technology. So there are victory options en masse! In addition to the many tactical options, the game offers a wide selection of races and units with individual weapons. The specialization opportunities in research and the army are also rich. Sniper, guru, foot soldier,

Equally varied is the combat technique: A particularly brave melee brings an additional train. Certain defenses immobilize an opponent without killing him. And a satellite strike with Pyrex missiles will destroy everything – even the surroundings of the handsome future world. That’s big!

DX CON 2018: Highlight Hearts of Iron

More than 1,000 paying visitors and more than 100 journalists came to the PDXCON in-house exhibition from Paradox Interactive in Stockholm in 2018. At the first fan meeting to the paradox title “Hearts of Iron 2” (2002), there were only a bare 24 participants. With such a growth, the outgoing CEO Frederick Wester was, of course, joking: “We buy Sega and Ikea,” he answered when asked about the competition. In view of the developments currently being developed, however, the competition should really be frightened. The paradox is currently working on the three heavyweights “Crusader Kings 2 – Holy Fury”, “Hearts of Iron 4 – Man the Guns” and “Universalis IV – Dharma”. All DLC appear in 2018 and cost 19.99 euros.

Release Date “Age of Wonders – Planetfall”: August 6, 2019, for PC, PS4, Xbox One.
