First Store Sales Of Anthem Paint Gloomy Picture: Only 25% Of Destiny 2
First Store Sales Of Anthem Paint Gloomy Picture: Only 25% Of Destiny 2
The first sales figures of Anthem are there. However, they are not very good and could mean a lot of problems for the game.
A few days ago, Anthem is now available and many players have plunged into the new Cooper shooter from BioWare. But how many players are there? Is Anthem selling well? The answer may be a clear “no”. Because at least in comparison with other top titles, the sales of Anthem are rather low.
Only a quarter of Destiny 2: The basis of these statements are the sales figures in the UK. Although they are not representative of the whole world, they often give a first impression of the performance of a game. These are so-called “box sales”, ie the sales of the classic box version of a game. Digital sales are not included, as unknown:
- Anthem sold only half as many units as Destiny 2 on the opening weekend.
- In comparison with its predecessor Destiny (1), it is even only 10% of the sold units.
- Even Mass Effect: Andromeda has sold twice as often as Anthem.
- Anthem also hangs behind sales of single-player games like Kingdom Hearts 3 or the remake of Resident Evil 2
Online sales are the big stranger: Nevertheless, one should enjoy all these sales figures for the time being with caution. After all, Anthem can not only be purchased as a boxed version but can also be purchased digitally or gambled on the PC in conjunction with the “Origin Access Premier” service. How high the actual sales figures are can only be guessed at.
EA has estimated the digital sales on PS4 and Xbox One at about 47% for the past year – so at least one can guess that Anthem is not doing so well.
Fans are worried about support: In the various discussions on this topic are already the first fears and concerns of the community. So it is feared that EA could simply “drop” Anthem, as it had done with Mass Effect: Andromeda. Here, intended DLCs were simply deleted without replacement and never published.
Are you surprised by these sales of Anthem? Do you think the game performs better in other regions (like the US)? Or are the digital sales numbers probably many times higher?

Destiny 2 Wants To Make It Easier For You To Access The New Premium DLC
Destiny 2 Wants To Make It Easier For You To Access The New Premium DLC
Destiny 2 has apparently learned from his mistakes around the launch of the Black Armory. Players who are not yet at the current max level should not level for long before they can plunge into the new DLC.
That was the problem with the first premium DLC: When the Black Armory was launched, not all guardians could get started with the new content. For many, it was initially: Leveling and grind through old content.
Because the new activities like the blacksmiths were in your level requirement already well above the old power level of 600. Who was not already at the start of the DLC on the previous level cap or just below, had no real chance in the new content.
If you were still a long way from Power-Level 600, you had to level up for weeks to finally get a taste of the new content – even if Bungie had already grown the smithy after two days. This circumstance had angered many players.
That should change at the second DLC: But it looks like Bungie has learned from his mistakes at the start of the first premium DLC.
Community Manager Cozmo23 talked to a fan about this problem on Reddit. The player did not play the content of the first premium DLC. He also had not reached the original 600 Forsaken level cap. Now he wanted to know if he can still start playing Des Joker’s wildcard.
Cozmo said that it will now be possible to quickly level up and jump straight into the new Annual Pass content. So, undernourished players returning to the new DLC no longer have to worry about being excluded from the new content.
Although he did not reveal exactly how catching up works, concrete details will be presented later this week. The fans suspect consumables that can bring players to the current level cap of 650 or an adjustment of the powerful bonuses, which allows you to level more quickly.
When is the 2nd Premium DLC coming? An exact start date does not exist yet. However, Season 6 officially starts on the 5th of March. Fans assume that the start shot for Des Joker’s Wildcard then falls on 12 March.
For the first premium DLC, The Black Armory was also one week after the start of Season 5 at the start. Official information should not be long in coming. Bungie has already announced that there will finally be details on the upcoming content this week.

Destiny 2 Weakens One Of The Most Powerful Pieces Of Armor For PvP
Destiny 2 Weakens One Of The Most Powerful Pieces Of Armor For PvP
With the big update, 2.2.0 will change in March at Destiny 2 next season a lot. Among other things, one of the most powerful Titans Exotics will be grown and some branches will be adapted.
What happened? In the latest issue of This Week at Bungie blog, developers have given a brief glimpse of the changes coming to Guardians with March Update 2.2.0.
The most important thing: The one-eyed mask of the Titan is being raised. In addition, a lot is changing in shotguns and linear fusion guns.
This is how the one-eyed mask changes
Many fans, especially PvP players, have been waiting for this. The exotic Titan helmet One-eyed mask is finally overworked by months of demands of many players Bungie.
Destiny 2 one-eyed mask
What makes the one-eyed mask? The Exotic Perk Retaliation marks enemies that inflict damage on you for 15 seconds. If you destroy this enemy, the mask grants increased damage to its wearer, health regeneration and an overshield.
That’s the problem with this exotic helmet: In its current form, the mask is considered overpowering and, in principle, is the most common Titan Exotic in the Crucible. Enemies are marked for a long time, the wearer can recover completely after a kill and subsequently inflicts even more damage.
Destiny 2 Forsaken Exo Helmet
Thus, the one-eyed mask will change: The changes are still the mask remain effective, but there should be more opportunities to prevail against the wearer.
The effect duration of the exotic perk retaliation is reduced from 15 to 8 seconds
In addition, health is then regenerated differently. Previously, after a kill, the entire health was restored. The overshield has charged over time. Now, health should also be charged over time
The exotic Perk retaliation is no longer triggered during the Super. This made the wearer almost invincible
Bungie stresses that they will continue to listen to player feedback and make further adjustments if necessary.
Destiny-Sleeper
These weapon changes come with the new update
In addition to the adjustments to the one-eyed mask to change even with two branches of arms. As far as we are concerned, shotguns and linear fusion rifles are affected.
This changes with linear fusion guns: Bungie was this type of weapon especially in Gambit too dominant – especially the Sleeper Simulant and the Queenbreaker. That’s why we’ve made a few more adjustments:
The aiming aid of the linear fusions rifles is adjusted to reduce the effectiveness to very long distance. It will be especially noticeable with the queen breaker. There, they identified a problem that made this exotic weapon more than twice as likely to target as intended.
As compensation for this Nerf, the linear fusion rifles receive a 10% increase in damage in the PvE
This changes with shotguns: In the shotguns, changes are made primarily to the rapid-fire archetype and the fully automatic perk. Because this perk has doubled the damage output of each shotgun. Thus, almost exclusively rapid-fire shotguns were used in PvE. Now, the other archetypes should come more into play.
Here are the upcoming changes to shotguns:
Shotguns get a damage multiplier in PvE. This should almost double the damage caused. The only exception: the exotic shotgun legend of Acrius
The firepower bonus of the fully automatic perk for shotguns is reduced from + 100% to +10%
The default rate of fire of the various archetypes will change
- Aggressive Shotguns then fire at 55 rounds per minute (previously 45)
- Precision shotguns firing at 70 rounds per minute (previously 55)
- Lightweight shotguns shoot at 80 rounds per minute (previously mistakenly indicated 90)
- Rapid Fire Shotguns shoot at 140 rounds per minute (previously 200 due to fully automatic)
- The base damage for shotguns has been lowered throughout, adjusting the new rate of fire.
Ammunition reserves have been adjusted as their efficiency has been increased by more damage per shot
The range of shotguns has been reduced a bit in PvP, where you can land a one-hit kill. What do you think about the nerf of the one-eyed mask? And how do you see the upcoming weapon adjustments?
